I am doing the same thing for electronic diagnostics. I scanned through
the FAQ postings and listings in the July/August '95 issue of PCAI
magazine to compile a list of the following products. Our requirements
were also driven by keeping the cost low. See descriptions and contact
info in the FAQ.

BABYLON		ES		WindExS		RT-Expert	Acquire
Aion		EXSYS		FLEX		G2		Icarus
KEE		LEVEL5 Object	M.4		M.4VB		OPS83
RAL		Rete++		RT/Expert	Statute		TestBench
VBXpert		Visual Expert	XpertRule

Of these, I'm looking closest at M.4VB (upgraded to M.4 if I need to),
Visual Expert, XpertRule, and Aquire. If we could tolerate a Clips-like
rule syntax, VBXpert is only US$99.

Good Luck
