I could have told you the same thing as I watch my cats for a day.. They 
know exactly what I mean! If one of them wants to sit on my lap, and I 
say: "I'm going to take a shower in a minute, so the're's no point in 
sitting down", she looks up, slightly annoyed, and sits down next to me..
If we talk about the vet a bit too much, she stays well out of sight for 
a few hours..

I could go on like that for hours, but I think, that although cats do not 
have the same consciousness as we do, they sure know what we mean by most 
things. They definetely plan ahead, and they are definetely smart.
