The psychologist Guy Claxton wrote a kite flying article in "The 
Psychologist" (the journal of the British Psychological Society) a 
couple of years ago about developing a "wisdom of mind"; developing 
from psychology (knowledge of mind). (I would supply a full
reference, but the article is up in my attic at present.)
