In "Ways of Knowing 3," I read an article which described the computer as
a universe. Previously I thought of the super-adding machine a missed copy of
the human brain. My question is: how much do the associations programmers
(et.al.) make about computers (brain, universe, etc.) influence the direction
of their research?
