  Mikhail can defend himself.  But I suspect many who emphasize 'reference'

  Most proponents of the Turing Test would claim that the test can reveal
evidence of various types of interaction with the environment.  They might
even suggest that an excessive degree of rationality in the responses
would be sufficient evidence to fail the TT respondent machine.
