As I defined it in a previous article, haecceitism (in the sense of Kaplan)
is the doctrine that holds that the question of transworld identity of a
given type of entities can be posed without reference to common attributes
or behavior.

By contrast, an anti-haecceitist believes that transworld identity attaches
to properties, rather than to individuals.  For an anti-haecceitist view of
