Agian, why do so many people assume that any kind of thinking machine
will have the same instincts as humans? (religons do the same with their
gods - ego worship perphaps?) 
This might be a reasonable assumption if they shared the much of the same
DNA blueprint for survival instincts with us(as wolves do,for instance),
but of course, unless we endow them with these, they will not.

That is, unless you think things like hunger,territoriality,sex drive are
intrinsic functions of any intelegence?
(as it was competion for resources to satisfy these kinds of instincts
that led to the instances you gave.)
