Eg, see the article in yesterday's Guardian (a UK newspaper) about
some bunch that's trying to develop computer-generated actors and
actresses. They're not yet good enough to replace Julia Roberts (the
article's example), but time will tell. (Part of the motivation for
this project seemed to be based on the mistaken assumption that actors
and actresses are just an obstacle to the expression of the director's
ideas. Well, maybe they are, for sufficiently egotistical directors,
but "from the firector's head to you" is not what films are currently
about and a good thing too, IMHO.) (They also seemed to be primarily
concerned with various aspects of Julia's looks, but that may just be
an artifact of the way the Guardian reported it.)
