zeleny@zariski.harvard.edu (Mikhail Zeleny) writes in response to my
note:

   >Your charge that Dennett has been intellectually dishonest is a
   >serious one. You are no doubt prepared to substentiate this charge,
   >not with vague generalities, but with specific references to Dennett's
   >work.

I am sorry, but I was making a general statement about the AI field, as
   exemplified ... [blah blah]

No. You made an earlier statement about Dennett being a charlatan, and
when asked about it, turned it into a so-called guideline concluding that
those attempting to advance a certain philosophy of mind are charlatans,
or ignoramuses. Elsewhere, you wrote, and I quote:

... as far as I am concerned, the
problem with people like Dennett, aside from what I consider to be the
anti-humanistic orientation of their claims, is the intellectual dishonesty
with which they dismiss any argument that casts a doubt on the fundamental
   assumptions of their project.

So, I request that instead of engaging in vigorous handwaving, you either
substentiate your serious attacks on Dennett, with explicit references to
his work, or publicly retract your statements attempting to cast doubt on
his integrity and honesty.

In short, put up or shut up.
