I believe the speaker intends certain meanings for the productions but these
are unaccessable to the listener.  The speaker assumes the listener understands
as long as the responses to the speech falls within the certain boundaries.

I have carried on conversations for several minutes before some incongruity
indicates that the participants do not understand each other.  This typically
happens when the conversations are heavily laden with pronouns.
