Well Penrose presupposes that an AI, constructed by Man would in effect
be designed to operate like a the mind of man (man means human in this context)
or mimicry in operation in general.

This definition to me is too narrow and is part of why AI in general ends up
running down too many blind alleys into paradigmical cul de sacs of ambiguity.

Since man is inherently creative, and an AI should by definition by designed
initially to be more advanced in its thinking process than a human, to have
real purpose since real humans are much more easily reproduced and less
expensive than an AI would be to begin with.

So, although Penrose has some legitimate critical remarks, his conclusion
does not seem to be a end all and be all of the way AI systems when first build
will be concluded.

Does anyone have a list of researches that propose AI development that excedes
the mind model of humans?

Does anyone or no one agree with the above proposition, that an AI needs to
be more advanced in mind, than humans, to have real purpose?
