I think you have a very good point here. Too bad that most new
protocols, file formats and user interfaces we see these days don't
keep this in mind. I have been playing with this idea while working on
some of my personal projects to allow a single paradigm for a user
interface to be portable for various mediums from streaming text
through voice and on to GUI. Most of this is done by defining various
attributes that are not specific to a type of user interface.
