You will find a lot of info on www.intel.com. As far as I understood the
MMX has added functionality for multimedia. In the descriptions of the
Pentium Pro Intel says that this CPU is so fast that it has plenty of
time to do graphical and sound processing (like mpeg coding and 3d
calculations). It wouldn't supprise me if the added functionality of the
MMX processor is also available in the Pentium Pro (maybe in another
form).

The price of both processors is very high and game designers will
support non-MMX pentiums for a while. By the time that MMX becomes
standard in games your PC is already obsolete (2 - 3 years). Upgrading
the MMX seems difficult since all motherboards I have seen have a
maximum CPU speed of 200 MHz. So unless you find a real nice offer a
standard P200 may be sufficient.

Anybody has an other opinion?
