Let's say you are "chairhuman" of the computer science department
at a prestigious university and you need to develop one sparkling
gem of an AI track that will attract the best and the brightest.
Here's what you do. First of all, protect your turf and grow it.

The piece de resistance, the computer science course "Theories of
the Mind" that draws people from far and wide, will remain in the
department under your supervision even if you have to recruit its
competent instructors as "team-teachers" from such other sciences
as linguistics or philosophy. Let them all come to you, o Chair.

Next, periodically do a Web search on "Mentifex" (Latin for mind-
maker) which is the general rubric for an extremely comprehensive
theory of mind to be taught in your "Star of India" AI course and
which is also the catch phrase for all manner of independent work
being done to integrate neuroscience, robotics and AI in general.
Monitor the Mentifex phenomena in order to integrate the Theories
of Mind course with all ancillary activities: hiring of faculty,
awards of tenure, publication of journals, industrial relations.

Finally, let your "Theories of the Mind" course contain points of
departure for all your other course offerings. That is, present
the universe in your star course, then let your student voyagers
branch out to their chosen destinations after you, o wise Chair,
have shown them the infinitude of possibilities. Be not dismayed
if some students drop out of computer science in favor of wisdom.
