A recent article in soc.culture.esperanto quotes a series of "Merry
Christmases" in various (unidentified) languages, from a photo in an
article in the _Sacramento Bee_. One of them is:

                    Merry Keshmish

What (if any!) language is *this*?? It looks to me like English spoken
with an apple in one's mouth, though in that case the r's should probably
be w's.

I've discarded (let me know if I'm wrong) two obvious candidates:
Ebonics and Frisian.

This was purportedly in a serious photo in a serious article, but I find
it hard to imagine a serious language in which one would say "Merry
Keshmish". Seriously.
