How about "khaki" and "cocky"? (Doesn't work if you say /'k&ki/ rather
than /'kaki/, though.) That pair and the "lager"/"logger" one are the ones
I generally use for /a/ versus /A/.

/O/ in "logger"? How did it get there?

(I'm looking for a minimal pair for /@/ and /U/, if you'd be so kind.)
