When two scientist flies had completed a rather violent and strenuous
experiment in fly physics, they realized that they might have disturbed
their host.  "Mr. Elephant," they shouted, "we're sorry to have caused
you any disturbance."  Rudely enough, the elephant made no reply,
almost as if he hadn't heard anything.
