Subject: can ANYthing translate?
Lines: 16

It has been suggested that any concept which can be expressed in
a given language can also be explained in any other language,
although not necessarily with one-to-one mapping.
Others have expressed the opposite belief, that some concepts
(presumably the most abstract) can NOT be explained in most
languages. Counter-examples put forth include the Chinese
concept of Dao, French petite bourgoisie, German Zeitgeist, etc.

Where stands the scientific linguistic community on this question?
