Envy has more functionality, it is a bit more complex. I think
Team/V is easier to use.

>	2) Ease of administration
Team/V does not really come with administration support. (e.g.,
to way to prune needless versions from the libraries short of
committing to a new set of repositories. Team/V uses PVCS for
the access method to it's libraries. if you buy the full PVCS
product there may be more control in this area, I can't say.
I fell Envy wins here.

>	3) Learning curve
Relating back to #1, I think that Team/V is something that can
be picked up w/o bringing a person knowlegable in the product
to the team.

>	4) Functionality
Envy has support for features that Team/V does not. Config maps,
class ownership, Application Managers, prerequisites. If the
project is large (say > 6) I think Envy is the better choice
(because of the better management in regards to Applications).

>	5) Reliability
I have had problems with Team/V in the past and have heard of others
with the same difficlulties, packages locked unexpectedly, unable to
commit packages at certain times. While with Envy I have yet to have
a problem with the quality of the product. More often its ?s like
"Why can't I do this now".

>	6) Price
Team/v use to be about $1500 while Envy is about $3000. If you buy
many copies of Envy (say >10) it gets cheaper/copy. But then
Digitalk will deal also.

Overall, If it's a small project (say 4 or so developers) and you
are developing for a single platform, Team/V is a viable product.
OTW consider Envy, its the premier Config. management software for
Smalltalk.

Did you know that IBM Smalltalk Team version contains the Envy
tools?
