I'm pleased to announce that JAIR (the Journal of Artificial
Intelligence Research) now has an experimental WWW form system that
enables readers to read and write comments on articles.

To use the comments facility, go to JAIR's home page and find the
table of contents for Volume 2. You can read or write comments on the
individual articles listed in the table of contents simply by clicking
on the appropriate hot spots. For those of you who are not familiar
with JAIR, the URL for JAIR's HTML server is:
     http://www.cs.washington.edu/research/jair/home.html

The comments facility is an experiment in electronic publishing that
will be evaluated over the next few months. The authors of the
articles in JAIR's volume 2 (the current volume) have all agreed to
participate in this experiment.

JAIR acknowledges Peter Turney of the Knowledge Systems Laboratory at
the National Research Council in Canada for proposing and implementing
the comments facility. Please send any comments/suggestions regarding
the facility to jair-ed@ptolemy.arc.nasa.gov and cc: peter@ai.iit.nrc.ca.
