  In the systems development field, the term "Information Engineering "
refers to one of the methodologies used to do data analysis and modelling.
There is a CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tool based on this
technique, named IEF (Info. Eng. Facility).  IEF was developed by Texas
Instruments.  I hope this answers your question.
