I'm not qualified to comment in this group, but then, based on the
subject matter, who is?  That said, does not chaos theory imply that
systems could be created that worked within broad parameters, and that
within those limits, "things" may happen that are neither controlled
or planned in advance?  In other words, when we have a more complete
understanding of chaos, might we not create systems that are "bent"
towards learning and applying new knowledge, without our having the
vaguest clue as to what that knowledge/technology might be, or how it
might be applied?

Couple that with a value system that is self-evaluating and
self-modifying (and maybe "bent" towards self-preservation and/or
procreation), and do you have something substantially different
from human potential?
