   I'm assuming that the rigorous orthography would make it easier for 
the voice recognizer to write out a word once it recognizes it, so it 
doesn't have to worry about "to" vs. "too" vs. "two", etc.

   Anyway, instead of encouraging the world to change how it speaks, it
sounds like Mike should just learn Spanish.  It has fewer vowels and a
much more regular orthography than English.
