I realize that Peter was being somewhat tongue in cheek, since Peter
is himself the author of _Expert C Programming: Deep C Secrets_. Of
the 8 Java texts I've looked at so far, at least two are by authors
who have also written C and/or C++ texts (Michael Daconta's _Java for
C/C++ Programmers_ is the other that I know about).

Hey, Guy Steele is helping write the Java spec, right? Quick,
disqualify him: he's written Lisp, Scheme, and C texts. :-)
