This announcement is a call for workshop proposals for OOPSLA 95 in
Austin. Let me know if you would be interested in leading a workshop
in some area. All workshops will have multiple coordinators and I can
help you with logistics. I am particularly interested in putting
together a series of synergistic workshops in the area of complex
adaptable systems engineering. These could include:

 Agents and Object-oriented Technology
 Scripting Languages and Object-oriented Technology
 Software Adaptability and Reusability
 Legacy Systems and Object-oriented Technology
 Frameworks and Object-oriented Technology
 Enterprise Workflow and Object-oriented Technology
Complexity and Coordination in Object-oriented Technology
Reliable Distributed Computing and Object-oriented Technology
World Wide Web and Object-oriented Technology

In my opinion, complex adaptable systems, are the most important future
challenge for software engineering. Object technology represents an
initial step in this direction that must be extended to handle complex
 large-scale dynamic evolving environments.

I recommend the submission of proposals at your earliest convenience
to allow time for coordinating and fine tuning workshops. Proposals
should be up to two pages in length and include a description of
the themes, problems to be addressed, proposed agenda and references to
other papers, workshops and forums if appropriate. The proposal should
include names, affiliations, addresses, phone, fax, and e-mail addresses
of all prospectives co-organizers, indicating a primary contact. I can
send you an extensive OOPSLA Workshop Organizer's Guide from last year if
you would like more information before submitting a final proposal.
Proposals should be submitted BEFORE March 1 to rmarcus@atc.boeing.com.
(OOPSLA="Object-Oriented Programming Systems, Language and Applications"
will be held in Austin, Texas from October 15-19.)
