In my previous posting, I forgot to clarify that the software is required by
a national university at Caracas, Venezuela. I thought that sending the email
from my alumni account at Indiana University could be misleading. Sorry for
the mistake.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dear friends,

I have checked very carefully the information resident in the Prolog Resource
Guide about the different Commercial Prolog versions as well as Public
Domain Prolog versions. I have done some investigation with some of
the Commercial Prolog vendors. Despite the high quality of their products
the cost is still high for our purposes.

The software will be used for educational purposes at a national university
totally owned by the state, so we are looking for a commercial version with
a reasonable cost (if a student version does exist, even better).

We need a version able to run on a 386/486 machine under MS-DOS and/or
MS-Windows (stand-alone mode).

We strongly appreciate any suggestion on which Commercial Prolog version
fits better our needs and budget (no more than US$ 200). We also welcome
recommendations on Public Domain Prolog reliable enough to be used for
educational purposes.

Because our access to news-server is somehow unsteady, I will appreciate
your replying to my e-mail address:

      oappel@conicit.ve .

If there is interest, I will post the answers to the newsgroup.

Thanks in advance for the help.
