I was nice last time by E-Mailing you a reply to this post. This time
you deserve a public whipping. First this is not xerox.jobs.offered.
Second Print OnDemand does not necessarily have anything in common with
merging variable data with forms. Print On Demand usually describes an
order fulfillment implementation of document printing by where you store
and electronic database of documents for printing only the exact
quantities required. This kind of system usually indexes individual
pages or chapter so that revision can be applied without throwing out
the entire document. Third you mention nothing about the specific
equipment and systems used. There is a vast difference between printing
channel connected using VMS from a mainframe, or a network, or hang tape
operation. The type of individual and skills required varies greatly.
Forth their are at least a half dozen or more finishing vendors. Their
equipment operates differently. Finally you don't mention anything about
salary range - this tells me you want an expert but don't want to pay
anything for them. If you want an impact player who can come in and
start contributing immediately you better get a little more specific on
the environment and skills you are looking for and you better be willing
to part with the $ to attract such a person - if they are any good they
probably are getting paid what their worth, IMHO.
