Do what a lot of us did, Jess:
1) collect all the broken gear people will give you for parts!!
2) hit all the garage sales for books that you can find on basic
electronics.
3) hit the library and don't stop.
4) maybe obtain the good cheap books on electronic topics from Radio Shack.
5) Study your butt off and read this group somemore!
