I am including a news story from another source by
Knight-Ridder (can I get in trouble for doing this?)
about a new Motorola MPU.

Hey Fred, are you ready to design the MiniBoard 3.0? :-)

Motorola introduces new chip based on PowerPC family
    Knight-Ridder
    New York--Apr 21--Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today introduced a
microcontroller based on its PowerPC family of chips for use in such
places as auto engines and computer peripherals.
The microcontroller, called the RMCU500 family, relies on the
PowerPC architecture developed jointly by Motorola, IBM Corp. and
Apple Computer. The initial version is the RMCU505, with a processing
power of 25 million instructions per second (MIPS).
The target markets for the 32-bit reduced instruction set
computing (RISC) chip include consumer electronics, computer
peripherals and communications.
For the consumer market, Motorola is working with Kaleida Labs
and Scientific-Atlanta Inc. to help develop next-generation digital
home communications terminals based on the Motorola chip.
The chip will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
