Well, i am sure that some of you will be participating in the BEAM
robotics competition which is at the CNE Hobby Show in Toronto in
scarcely more than a week.

I will be at the show, but (for various reasons i don't want to get into
right now) i am not participating in the BEAM competition. Instead, i
will be with the Meccano/Erector exhibit. I will be showing off a whole
lot of strange mechanical devices, including a small mobile robot that
i've whipped together in the past couple of weeks.

If interest warrants it, i will soon write up a set of plans for this
sucker, so that you too can have your own tabletop critter. It looks at
this point like a complete parts kit would cost about US$100 for the
basic unit (including drive motors and battery holders), which is nothing
but standard off-the-shelf, unmodified Meccano parts.

Specifications to be announced SOON.

- Colin
