A question for some folks with experience w/ IR transmitters & sensors:

I'm putting together a tiny robot submarine for use in a home
aquarium (a fairly big one ... in the 150 gallon range) Since there
won't be room for much brains on board (and it can't stray too far) ...
I want to set up a remote control link ... Since the aquarium isn't too
large ... do you think that an IR system would work? or are there tiny
ultra-sound transmitters/detectors which could serve the same purpose?
..or RF? I have thought about putting my TV remote control in a
plastic bag and sticking it underwater to see how the water affects the
range of the IR ... but I though I would see if anyone here has any
experience first.

Thanks,
