Well lock me in a room with a stereo and a stack of Barry Manilow
CDs. I goofed in my Email address.

My correct address is:	sibit@datasrv.co.il (datasrv w/out an 'e')

I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this might have caused.

I would like to thank all of you who have responded - I now have a
few new items to add to the FAQ. The response has been amazing so
far. I'm just a novice with the 8051 (I'm a PC assembler programmer
by trade) and I thought my effort was a bit presumptious. However,
I have been receiving an amazing number of VERY positive responses.
The consensus is that a FAQ file for the 8051 has long been overdue.
I guess I will continue to presumpt away. All suggestions and comments
are welcome.

To all of those who sent messages to me - Thank you very much. I hope
to respond to you all, but the response was a bit more than I expected.
I'll try to fit you all in between family and work. I'm also afraid
I'll never get back to my little 8051 project with all the time I'm
spending on this file. Hopefully, it'll all be worthwhile.

GOOD NEWS - I understand from Richard Vireday at Intel, that the Intel
FTP site is due to be drastically improved. It would be very nice if
the inventors of the 8051 would jump in and give us 8051 groupies some
assistance. It seems that with the current interest level of the 8051,
a separate news group may be helpful. There I go presumpting again! It
sure would be a lot more convenient than always having to scan:
comp.sys.intel, comp.robotics, comp.realtime, and comp.lang.misc. Who
has time? Any thoughts out there about the need for our own group? How
do you go about starting a group? Who needs to approve? Who needs to
start it? I know, I know - the following questions are probably in a FAQ
somewhere. When I find a free week or two, I'll go looking for it.

A final comment on closing. The most frequently asked question still
remains... Where is the public domain C compiler for the 8051? No
matter how bare bones it is, it will be quite welcome. Can anyone out
there shed some light on this?

That's all for now. Take care and have a good one.

Russ
