Over the years, my biggest problem with building robots is my lack of
tools. I haven't been satisfied with small lego type robots or other
types, I've been driven by what I think I can make a small robot under
100 pounds do.

So I need a machine shop. I'm happy to annouce that I have finally gotten
started on my machine shop.

First tool ... Metal cutting band saw.

After careful consideration of all of my alternatives, I have settled on
a 16 inch 2 speed Delta Band saw. The band saw will cut alluminum with no
problem and it's good enough quality to not fall apart. My local hardware
store wanted $650.00 for this model. Home Depot wanted $450.00 Costco
wanted $349.00.

I purchased it yesterday, set it up today. It works great.

Next tool. Drill press.

I'll keep you informed of how it is going.
