I got such a good response from last month's posting, I decided to repeat
it again this month. If you want your name on a TAR mailing list detailing
future meetings, please let me know.

** Notice for the February meeting **

Are you interested in robotics, building mechanical gadgets, computer control,
or just like to swap technical stories/gossip? If so, then you may be the ideal
candidate for the Triangle Amateur Robotics club!

The club meets the first Monday of every month at 7:30pm on NCSU campus (110
Clark labs - near the green houses and train track). The club is not
associated with NCSU, but NCSU has been gracious enough to allow us use of
one of their spare classrooms for our club meeting. Sometimes the club
meeting time/place is changed to allow for the club to visit a member's
house (to see their latest project) or at a local company (for a site visit).
Once you join (no membership fee!), you will be mailed a postcard detailing
the time/place of each meeting.

Typically the meeting is very informal, and so the agenda changes each time
based on what everyone wants to discuss. Typically, the meeting consists of
club related news first (we are working on a club project now - a club robot
consisting of various modules connected together via ACCESS.bus), plus time
for interested people to do a little show-and-tell, and occasionally we have
a planned speaker.

The club is a fairly small club - only about 5-6 hard-core members (show up
at every meeting), and a few others that show up occasionally. The club
has been meeting for about 8 years now (originally was the Triangle Homebrew
Computer Society). The club president is Russell Lyday.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Triangle Amateur Robotics
club, please feel free to contact me via my email address (sasrer@unx.sas.com),
or call me at work [919] 677-8001 x7703, or home [919] 469-9359. If you can't
make it tonight, but would be interested in attending future meetings, send
me email so I can let you know of any time/date changes for February's meeting.

Thanx, and hope to see some of you there!
