I am working on a project that involves communication from a base computer to a remote autonomous helicopter. I am looking into either building or getting my hands on a very reliable data link that will allow two way communication from base to remote vehicle. We have worked on a system that uses a high frequency tv transmitter to transmit converted digital data. We have also worked with LAWN's (local area wireless networks.) These two approaches are not effective enough in our situation.

I was wondering if anyone knew about a more powerful system than the LAWNs, but has the capability of rs232 communication across a data link.

I would gladly consider any alternatives!!

Thanks for the help.
