In an interview with (NBC I imagine, but maybe CNN) Antonio Tarver, US 
boxer, admitted to the interviewer that he *had*

     /s@ 'keym t@ 'krEk/           (in the past)

(which would be spelled "succame to crack").  Is this usage widespread 
among those who have only encountered "succumb" , or is it just Mr. 
Tarver, or what?
