Hi, all! Recent work in borrowing between Middle English and Old French
has gotten me interested in what motivates speakers to borrow from one
language or another (or even from one dialect to another), especially in
those rare cases where grammatical words/morphemes make the jump. Can
anyone reccommend to me works on this subject, assuming such works exists
in books and/or journals? Please email me, and if there is sufficient
response I'll post a summary. Cheers!
