Gentlemen,

I have programmed in C using LEX and YACC, embedded SQL and various shell
languagues like ksh, perl, etc.

I am just getting interested in Natural Language Processing. I notice that
much of the research is being done with Prolog or Lisp. I have access to
those languages if I should choose to use them, but have not compiled them.

Is there a brief summary somewhere of the advantages of thes languages over
C withy LEX and YACC for NLP, or could someone please give a short
summary of the issues ?

Regards,
Larry Kruper
