I have just started a part time PhD researching Intelligent
Learning/Training Systems (ILS/ITS).

Only being at the initial research stage I am not certain what area the
final thesis will focus on but it will certainly look at the concepts of
computer modelling in order to design ILS/ITS which are flexible and
adapt to the learners preferred learning style.

Last month I came across three articles on Fuzzy Logic and Neural
Networks and it seems to me that there may be a possibility of using
these concepts as "front ends" to computer based ILS/ITS systems.

I have read with interest the newsgroup discussion about Fuzzy networks
and there use and am in the process of obtaining some of the introductory
books and information.

I should like to know if any research work is being undertaken in the
area of Education/Training and the use of Fuzzy Logic/Neural Networks to
control such systems.

Thanks

Bill
