If you install winword correctly, You will have MSAPPS directory in 
\WINDOWS\MSAPPS... (don't need to copy by yourself!).
When you wanna to use MS Equation, just use menu "Insert|Object|MS Equation".
That's it:).

If you still can not use this, you just correct the path of MS Equation 
in "win.ini" file.
