Robotic Claymation

In the summer of 1995, Garth Zeglin and Matt Mason cotaught the Robotics section of Andrew's Leap. One of the student groups, composed of Mark Firth, Katherine Howell, Jennie Lin, and David Toma, produced two movies: National Robotics Fencing Competition Finals and Amazing Movie.

Here are all the various pieces of animations produced:

• A block moving across the carpet, moved by hand between each frame.
• A block turning around and moving, moved by a Microbot.
• Another take of the same.
• Moving a block along a line interpolated between two points. The camera is triggered automatically.
• A little block man running around a maze. First cut, just the keyframes.

• First full cut of the same, with lots of simultaneous hand animation.
