After being at Calvin for four years, Rudy had accumulated a number of great friends. Some are still at Calvin, while others have gone in different ways to pursue their future goals.

When Rudy was a student at Calvin, there were approximately ten students from Indonesia studying at Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary. Most of these students are still there, finishing up their education in various disciplines.

Rudy also has a friend from Nigeria, Michel Verheijen, who was also an Electrical Engineering major. Both Rudy and MV were in many Engineering classes together. Thus, they often studied together and had discussions about future careers. They were also in the same Engineering Senior Design Project. Now MV is a graduate student at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, studying Engineering Economics while working as a research assistant in the database area at Stanford's Computer Science Department.

Another friend at Calvin to be mentioned is Dawn Konyndyk. Dawn has become one of Rudy's best friends since they got to know each other while working at Calvin's Computer Center. She had provided many advises to him, and in many ways influenced him in the last three years of his time at Calvin. Dawn is presently in her last year at Calvin, finishing up her study in Political Science and Communications. She is planning on continuing her education to a law school.

Rudy also has many other friends. They were all very important to him; however, it would take forever to talk about all of them. Therefore, only some were mentioned here.
