In Fall 1997, Rudy started a new chapter of his educational career, attending a graduate program. He is attending a Master's program in the field of information networking, which in short, integrates the disciplines of business, computer science, and electrical and computer engineering. The program specifically deals with how information is being communicated, looking at it both from technical and business points of view. The MSIN program is a part of the Information Networking Institute, a research center in information networking at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The INI is closely affiliated with three CMU schools: the College of Engineering, the Graduate School of Industrial Administration (CMU's business school), and the School of Computer Science. INI students take classes at the affiliated schools, as well as at other CMU schools such as the Heinz School of Public Policy and Management. In the Fall 1997 semester, Rudy took Operating Systems, Circuit & Packet Switching, Economics & Management, Strategic Management of Information Systems, and Electronic Commerce. Currently he is taking Distributed Systems, Information Systems Modeling, Finance, Managing Knowledge-Intensive Businesses, and Database Applications. |
