15-213/18-243 Introduction to Computer Systems: Exams

  • All exams are open book, open notes.
  • You may not use the computer at all.
  • You are permitted to use a calculator for arithmetic, but you may not run programs on it.
  • Most likely, there will be both questions similar to previous exams and new types of questions.

Exam 1

Tue Feb 24, during lecture time

Exam 1 covers Chapters 1-3 and 5. The big emphasis is on chapters 1-3. Some sections of these chapters are omitted; see the course schedule for a more precise reading list. Exam 1 is worth 1/4 of your total exam grade. Sample exams:

Tue Apr 7, during lecture time

Exam 2 covers Chapters 5-8 and 10.1-10.8. Exam 2 is worth 1/4 of your total exam grade. Sample exams:

Tue May 12, 8:30am McConomy Auditorium (west coast: starts at 8:30am PT)

The final is cumulative, but places emphasis on the last part of the course, Chapters 10.9-13. The final counts 1/2 of your total exam grade. Sample exams:
