15-213 Introduction to Computer Systems (ICS): Exams

• All exams are closed book, closed notes, however, you may bring a single 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of notes (Exception: You may bring two sheets for the final).
• You may not use the computer at all.
• You are not permitted to use a calculator or any other electronic aid.
• There will be questions similar to previous exams, questions that will test your understanding of the lab material, and new types of questions.

Final Exam - Fri Dec 10, 2010, 5:30-8:30pm (model solution)

• The Final Exam will be held in two different locations (note the changes in your room assignments):
  • Location 1: UC McConomy [capacity 445]: Secs A (Tom), B (Joe), C (Hari), D (Hunter), E (Lucas), F (Yi), G (Taerim).
  • Location 2: GHC 4307 [capacity 75]: Sec H (Teddy) and students with permission for extra time.

• Since the final covers twice the material, you may bring two 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of notes.

• You are responsible for everything in Chapters 1-3 and 6-12. You are not responsible for Chapter 4 (architecture) or Chapter 5 (optimization).

• To study, read each chapter three times, work the practice problems, and do problems from previous exams:

• Exam 2 will be held at two different times on Tue Nov 9:
  • Nominal time: 6:00pm-7:20pm in two locations (notice that the start time is different than Exam 1):
    • Location 1: DH 2315 (Secs A-D)
    • Location 2: DH 2210 (Secs E-H)
  • Alternate time: 1:30pm-2:50pm (Only for those with an evening conflict):
    • Location: DH 2315 Just show up; no need to inform the teaching staff.

• Your TAs will hold an exam review during recitation on Monday, Nov 8.
• There is no lecture on exam day.
