Following the Leader

Claire Almand, 8, of Ocean City Md., and her brother Hayes, 6, follow Minerva on a tour of the Material World exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Minerva, an interactive talking robot, can detect people, approach them and guide them through the exhibit. Minerva is equipped with computers, sensors and laser range finders so she can perceive and navigate her environment as people do.
