I'd like to modify the behavior of MCL 3.0 in two ways, but I have no idea
how to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

1) I frequently open a file (with command-o) that's already been opened. I
never want to open a new window on the file, but I'm always presented with
a dialog box that asks me if I want the old window or a new one. Can I get
rid of this dialog box, and just have MCL select the old file?

2) I really like editors to save my current position in a file.
Unfortunately, MCL 3.0 only saves my position when I save the file. I'd
like it to do it every time I close a window, even if I don't save any
changes. That way, I always come back to where I was in the file, so I
don't have to find my place again. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
