The equipment requested in Year 1 is an Silicon Graphics Indigo 2 extreme
with 32Mb memory and 1Gb disk.  This is the standard "mid-range" graphics
work station for the simulation lab.  The workstation will help to offset the
additional load on the facility that will be generated by the proposed work.

The equipment requested in Year 2 is to upgrade the computer and video
hardware that controls and monitors the Shape Deposition process.  This
equipment will include an low-end Silicon Graphics workstation and video
interface board.  The existing controller is an old Sun 360 which is slow and
is difficult to integrate with other machines on the proposed network.
