The format is eps, Encapsulated PostScript. Any postscript reader should handle them. See
the ghostscript viewers at http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/, for example. They were produced
on a Mac using Adobe Illustrator, so you should be able to load them and edit them in Illustrator.

The figures are provided for the convenience of those teaching or taking courses using the book.

If you want to use them for some other purpose contact MIT Press for permission.

The mathematical text included in the figures were written in LaTeX and typeset by Textures from
Blue Sky Research.

Some of the text uses the Y and Y MathTime and MathTimePlus fonts, and might not work for you.
