CAL TRAILS AT HALFTIME BUT RALLIES TO BEAT NORTHRIDGE 1/22/95 NORTHRIDGE (AP) -- Monty Buckley missed his first seven shots, then made seven of his last eight Sunday to help California rally for a 76-65 victory over Cal State-Northridge. Buckley finished with 18 points for the Golden Bears (9-5), who trailed 41-33 at halftime but outscored the Matadors 43-24 in the second half. The Bears benefited from a strong showing from their bench: Tony Gonzalez scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds, Randy Duck had 14 points, and Jelani Gardner had 10 points and eight assists. Eric Gray led the Matadors with 19 points, including making 5-of-7 from 3-point range, and he also had eight rebounds. Robert Hill added 10 points for Northridge and Shawn Stone, a guard, had 10 rebounds. The Bears, who shot 40 percent from the floor for the game, limited the Matadors to 28.6 percent shooting (10-of-35) in the second half. Northridge shot 44.8 percent in the first half.
